Shot 3: Work – Reinvention

Served by:
Has Khair, Founder & CEO tyllr / Founder & CEO, Mavericks Unlimited
&
Olivia Griffiths, Founding partner, Sway

We will all probably need to reinvent ourselves at some point in the next 5-10 years, but this doesn’t have to mean starting again, it can mean returning to yourself.

For our third shot we’re diving into reinvention – what it actually is, what it isn’t, and why it matters now more than ever.

This is a conversation between two people who have both significantly reinvented themselves, but from completely different starting points. Has’s story is about disruption arriving from the outside; with his major reinventions driving him to question who he really was. His identity challenged; rebuilding from the ground up led him from proving worth to finding purpose. His story is a journey of discovery – peeling back the layers and finding what was always there, beneath everything that had been constructed on top.

Olivia’s is a quieter version. A recurring internal signal, a curiosity that kept pulling her in a particular direction even when nothing was urgently broken. Less a series of pivots, more a deepening: choosing discomfort before it was required, building from value rather than validation. Becoming a mother was the first reinvention that asked something of her whole self, not just her career — one of the most total identity shifts a person goes through and rarely named in professional reinvention conversations.

Most people will recognise themselves in one story or the other, and some will see both. Whether reinvention arrives as a shock or a whisper, the destination turns out to be the same: you stop performing an identity and start inhabiting one.

Two stories. One destination. And plenty of ideas you’ll want to sit with afterward.

Hasan Khair is an executive coach, leadership advisor and entrepreneur who works at the sharp edge of human performance and business growth. As Founder/CEO of both Mavericks Unlimited and tyllr, his work spans coaching, culture, and strategic leadership – always grounded in the belief that strong leadership is a force multiplier for the best organisations.

Across his career, Hasan has worked alongside CEOs, founders, and senior executives navigating the real work of leadership – the messy middle between strategy and human complexity. Whether guiding people through high-stakes change, building leadership capability inside global organisations, or helping managers lead with greater clarity, the focus is always the same: more intention, more impact, less noise.

His own leadership roots were shaped in the creative industries, where he served as EMEA People Chief at Saatchi & Saatchi, overseeing talent strategy across a broad range of culturally diverse markets. It taught him what leadership looks like when the stakes are high, the pace is relentless, and the systems are complex – and it shaped a deep commitment to building leadership cultures that are bold, human, and performance-driven.

Today, through his companies, Hasan continues that mission in the boardroom, in coaching sessions, and in the work of building something from the ground up.
He is also a trusted advisor to several startups, charities, and mentor to emerging leaders. Clients describe him as a thoughtful challenger – someone who sees the deeper pattern, names the tension, and creates space for people to show up with more courage and intention.

Olivia Griffiths is a Founding Partner of Sway, a leadership consultancy focused on change.

She studies culture scientifically and applies it practically — using psychology-backed tools and interventions across organisational, team and individual levels. She recently won an award for her work on adaptible cultures during her MSc in Organisational & Social Psychology at the London School of Economics.

Her career has taken her from PR and marketing roles to become a private equity COO and Chief People Officer. She understands organisations from the inside out, across functions, sectors and moments of real pressure.

She also knows from personal experience that the most sustainable reinventions are built on values, not job titles.
